World Stroke Day
World Stroke Day brings awareness and advocates to improve stroke prevention and support for survivors and caregivers. Older people are at a higher risk of strokes and lack of knowledge regarding the signs and symptoms of the disease play a major role in making it a leading cause of mortality and disability. You can lower your risk of stroke by regulating and managing health conditions like blood pressure, cardiac diseases, diabetes, cholesterol and obesity. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet and not partaking in drinking or smoking will also lower your risk of stroke.
