What is Adult Foster Care?
Our Adult Foster Care program is where a relative or friend opens their home and provides residential care for individuals, ages 16 and up, who need assistance with daily living activities. It is a great option for clients who are unable to live independently. In this program, clients have the benefit of living with a family member or friend who may know them well and offer a level of personal comfort not always obtainable in a nursing home-style setting.
Our Caregiver Requirements
At Webster Home Care, we work with relatives and friends who are willing to act as caretakers for clients in the Adult Foster Care program. Individuals must meet certain requirements to ensure the safety and well-being of the client. The potential home must meet specific standards for the client's comfort and safety, such as adequate space, proper hygiene, and a safe environment. Legal guardians and spouses are not eligible to become caretakers, but relatives or friends of the client are.
Caregiver Mandatory Education Requirements
Caregivers for all of our clients must also complete a mandatory Massachusetts health required education, which includes emergency care training and more. This ensures that the caretaker is prepared to handle any possible emergencies that may arise.
Care Managers and Staff to Support Clients
Clients in the Adult Foster Care program at Webster Home Care receive frequent visits from a registered nurse, care manager, and a community support specialist based on their needs. Care managers ensure that the client's needs are met and that they are living in a safe and nurturing environment.
Guidance and Information
Webster Home Care works with the potential caretakers, who open their homes, to provide guidance, information on social programs, and community resources that may be available to the client.
