Paget’s Awareness Day
Paget’s disease is a disease of the bone that interferes with its normal process of gradually renewing and replacing old bone tissue with new bone tissue. When the bone tissue doesn’t renew, bones can become fragile.
Commonly affected areas are the pelvis, skull, spine, and legs. Complications can include, broken bones, hearing loss, and pinched nerves to the spin.
Paget’s Awareness Day is honored on January 11th to educate others on the effects of bone disease.
